Why Our Lasers Are Different
At one2one Laser Clinic, we use two of the most advanced laser systems available today — the Winkonlaser PicoKing II picosecond laser for tattoo removal and the AresLite diode laser for hair removal. The PicoKing II is a Class 4 medical-grade system delivering pulses as short as 350 picoseconds, shattering ink particles with photoacoustic precision rather than heat. This means faster fading and far less trauma compared to older nanosecond Q-switched machines still common in many clinics.
For laser hair removal, our AresLite uses a Coherent™ diode from the USA — the same core technology found in premium systems like the Soprano Titanium — but in a Class 1 design, meaning it’s exceptionally safe while still providing fast, powerful, and comfortable treatments across all skin types.
Both systems are brand new, next-generation lasers, chosen after months of research to ensure our clients get the safest, most effective, and least painful results possible.

Tattoo Removal
We don’t just fade tattoos — we engineer their disappearance. Our Winkonlaser PicoKing II fires at 350 picoseconds, shattering ink particles with ultra-short, photoacoustic bursts instead of burning them with heat. That means less pain, less trauma, and faster fading — even on stubborn black or coloured ink.
Traditional nanosecond lasers deliver energy slower and hotter, which can hurt more and damage skin. Ours delivers energy faster than ink can heat up, so it breaks apart cleanly and safely.

Performance over marketing
Many clinics still rely on older systems such as the Cynosure PicoSure, launched back in 2012. At the time, it was revolutionary — but technology has moved on. The original PicoSure delivered energy at around 550–750 picoseconds, which by today’s standards is considered slow.
Our Winkonlaser PicoKing II represents the next generation of professional picosecond laser systems, firing pulses at just 350 picoseconds across all key wavelengths (1064 nm, 532 nm, and 755 nm). This delivers faster, cleaner pigment fragmentation with less heat and minimal downtime.
In short: it’s quicker, safer, and far more effective than early-generation systems.
Why Pulse Speed Matters
Laser energy can act in two ways — photo-thermal (heat-based) or photo-acoustic (shock-wave-based). The shorter the pulse, the more energy goes into mechanical shock rather than heat. That’s why picosecond lasers outperform nanosecond Q-switch systems for tattoo removal and pigmentation correction.
A 350 ps pulse produces pure photo-acoustic impact — breaking pigment into microscopic particles the body can naturally clear. The result is:

532 nm — removes red, orange, and yellow pigments
755 nm — ideal for stubborn greens and blues
That full-spectrum versatility makes it perfect for multi-coloured tattoo removal, skin rejuvenation, and pigment correction — without needing multiple machines.

Leading the Way in UK Laser Technology
As a UK representative for Winkonlaser and Nubway, I have direct access to the latest professional laser systems — and the PicoKing II in our clinic is the first of its kind in the UK.
Nubway have yet to introduce their true picolaser to the UK market, primarily because their modern Q-switch hybrid (like our PicoKing II) already achieves identical clinical outcomes at third of the cost. Even Nubway themselves acknowledge this — the only reason legacy brands still dominate is marketing momentum, not superior technology.
To put it in perspective, the Nubway true picolaser costs roughly one-fifth of the Cynosure PicoSure Pro, yet offers faster pulse speed, full-spectrum wavelength capability, and equal or better treatment results.
